Missing Out Again- Saturday 22nd April 2023

Missing out again

Today there is an Agility Fun Day and I’m missing out again. I’d love to be going and seeing all my friends. Instead of that I’m stuck here trying to make the best of things. Until now, Ari has been doing really well, but his patience has run out too and now he’s crying from time to time because he’s had enough. Mum keeps saying to him that all being well he will only be confined until Monday. He’s only had just over a week. You’d think he’d have a bit more control than that when I’ve been couped up for weeks.

Sunflowers

Mum has been planting lots of sunflowers in attempt to cheer us all up. Ok, so they are going to take a while to come through but she says she’s hoping their happy smiling little faces will make us all feel better when they do. I’ve never been patient at the best of times, so I hope they don’t take too long.

On a more promising note, Ari came running in from the garden yesterday to tell me that his live willow hedge seems to be working this year. He and Mum tried to plant willow branches last year to fill a gap in the hedge but they all died. Mum thought they’d planted them too late and it was too dry. This year they planted them earlier and it has been wet. Now all he has to do is weave the branches to fill the gap in the hedge as they grow.

No sign of Frances

We haven’t seen Frances Drake for a few days. Mum says she suspects he’s gone to join Jemima somewhere. She wonders if that means the chicks have now hatched and he’s busy being a proud father duck. It’s just a shame that they didn’t have the chicks here as Mum would love to see them all swimming on the pond together. We’ll just have to wait for Frances and Jemima to come back when they’re ready.

Love

Wilma
