Pebbles at the keyboard
Hi, its Pebbles here at the keyboard, but Wilma is helping. I have to write whole sentences. I can’t run around in circles while writing. For a dog who can’t do a stay, this is hard.
This morning, I went to training. It was too hot for me really. Mum took something called a cool coat for me to wear. You’d think it would make me hotter, but it didn’t. It was weird being all wet. I shared it with Mum and wrapped myself round her legs so her jeans were wet too. I thought she’s appreciate that.

One of the trainers knows a trainer who knows my sister Freya, how cool is that? She took my photo to send to the other trainer. Freya does more fun stuff like Hoopers. I want to try that instead of obedience, but Mum says I need my obedience first.
Working hard
I was working hard from the start of the lesson. Everything I was asked to do I did. Obviously I did some commando crawl. And I had a good roll around with Otis the Labrador. Sooty and Ernie were there too. I did miss my friend Maggie, she’s super cool. She’s a black Labrador and always jumps on me first. Toby was there too, but he’s too well behaved for me. I miss Dexter. He used to make me laugh, but hasn’t been for a while. I hope he comes back.
Anyway, I was doing really well for the first forty minutes. Then there were some dogs barking in the back of a van and I didn’t like what they were saying. After that, I suddenly noticed a piece of farm machinery the other side of the fence which scared me. I got really skittish and was jumping at everything.
Mum knows me quite well really. When I get like that she has realised the best thing is to take me out of the situation. We went into the field shelter and I had a drink, but I still wasn’t happy. I asked if I could come home early to somewhere I feel safe and can relax. Mum said yes. Because I’d tried really hard to begin with, she agreed it was better for me. It makes me glad she’s my Mum as she seems to understand how hard I find things.
What I really needed was a big Daddy cuddle, but he was out when we got home and away last night. He’ll give me a big hug when he gets back this afternoon.
Wilma says I’ve done really well and can finish writing now. I’ll be back next Wednesday.
Hugs, licks and head butts
