Saving the planet
Listen up dogs, now you can do your bit towards saving the planet. The best bit is that you can do that when you are eating your food.

We are really excited about a new company called Tangle, let me explain. Around half of the plastic in the oceans is from discarded fishing nets. Those nets are trapping and killing marine life. They take hundreds of years to degrade because they have to be made of tough plastic. The wonderful people at Tangle hit on the idea of paying fishermen for their old nets, to make it worth not just throwing them overboard. Then they turn those old fishing nets into dog bowls for you and me. They make dog leads too, but we are testing a bowl and we love it.

The bowls are marbled green and look really nice. They are a good size to get your nose into and not make a mess. They’re not too heavy but not so light that you tip them over. To help keep them still they have a non-slip ring on the bottom.
This year alone the company is on track to turn the equivalent of 526 tennis courts of end of life fishing nets into pet products. They are also working with charity Ghost Fishing UK who are committed to removing abandoned, lost and discarded fishing gear from the waters around the UK.

Important for us all
Saving the planet is important for every species. This is a project that will not only help to safeguard the future for dogs and humans, but will also help to save the marine life that would otherwise perish, trapped in the discarded nets. We love this objective and will certainly buy these bowls when we need replacements.
Even though today is my birthday, I’ve given the bowl to Ari as he’s been making do with one that’s really too small, since we broke his old one whilst playing. He is delighted that he can now claim his bowl is eco-friendly too.

The bowls cost £29.99 but we think they’re worth it and any dog would appreciate one of these as a gift. You can find Tangle’s website HERE. Do read more about the important work they’re doing.
