My Hydrotherapy

My hydrotherapy yesterday was so cool. It’s a brand new machine and I’m one of the first ones using it. The water was lovely and warm too and I was much happier not being right in the water up to my neck.

When I got there, I met the lady who was going to be helping me. She’s great. I really liked her and felt completely trust in her. She seemed to take a shine to me too, which always helps. She took all my measurements and talked me through what we’re trying to achieve. It made me feel as though I was part of the decision making, which is much nicer than just having it done to me.

Gentle start

We had a gentle start as I got used to how everything worked. Mum had taken some of our favourite vanilla flavoured treats with her and when I did it right she gave me a treat. I’d have done it right without them, but it was still nice to have a reward. I got the hang of it really easily and although it was hard work, I did really well. We’re going to build up the amount I’m doing week by week. I’ve booked my next five weekly sessions and am quite looking forward to going.

Worn out

It did all rather wear me out though. By the time we came home I was more than ready for a rest. Mum laughed because I was quiet for the rest of the day. She said that on that basis I should go daily, but that’s not an option. The other piece of good news is that we might be able to have some of the sessions on my health insurance policy, which will make Mum very happy. That will mean I can keep going weekly for as long as I need to.
