Congratulations Groot and Bandet – Tuesday 23rd July 2024

Congratulations Groot and Bandet

Congratulations Groot and Bandet. I am delighted to tell you that my friends have become proud parents to a litter of five puppies. Groot is being an absolute star as a Mum and she and the pups are doing well so far. There are three girls and two boys and they have such lovely names. Augustus, Annabelle, Arthur, Agatha and Amber came into the world last Thursday evening and all of them are good weights.

With the five of them, there are now 155 of our breed in the UK and we’re hoping that another litter will be born in the autumn. That’s a great increase even since I was a pup, but when you think that Alfie was only the tenth things have really moved on.

We send our very best nudges and licks to all the family and hope they will continue to progress as well as they have so far. I shall very much look forward to meeting you all at some point in the future.

Moving Gravel

It turns out that moving gravel was one of the easier parts of the gardening yesterday. Mum went backwards and forwards with her wheelbarrow, while I watched. The harder part was when she came to start doing all the planting. She hasn’t finished yet, but moving the lemons and the olives to their new homes was given high priority, followed by planting the plants that she bought on Sunday. Then she started digging the old patio plants out of the trough where she’d put them for safekeeping. The problem there was that they had really liked the trough and didn’t want to come out. Now Mum is wondering if the pots she has bought for them are going to be big enough.

The plant development has given her an idea though. She thinks she could use the trough to bring on the plants she wants around the garden. That way she could buy very small plants, but them in the trough for a few months and then move them to their final homes when they’re big. It sounds like a lot of work to me!
