I’ll bark if I want to – Thursday 25th July 2024

I’ll bark if I want to

‘It’s my birthday and I’ll bark if I want to.’ I think that’s how the song goes. It seems appropriate today seeing it actually is my birthday. Happy birthday to my brothers and sisters too. I’m thinking about my mama and papa today too. I had lovely dog parents. I guess they were the dogs who made me the girl I am. Although when I say ‘girl’ I am actually nine years old today. That makes me nearly as old as Alfie was when I first met him. It seems unbelievable when I think about it now. He seemed so very old to me as a young pup, but I don’t think of myself as all that old now. My body is aging, but I’m still young at heart.

Off to the woods

Mum is taking me to my favourite woods this morning. I did ask if I could go to the racecourse as it’s been simply ages since we went. Mum says I have to wait for that as I can’t stop myself getting over excited. I guess she has a point, but I should be allowed to get excited on my birthday.

Yesterday I jumped on the chair when Mum had turned her back for two seconds. She wasn’t pleased. She says I should be patient until the time the consultant told me that I should wait until. I didn’t mean to, but the jump just came over me and I had to do it right then.

Patio planting

The patio planting is complete. I will take a photo for you, but every time I went outside yesterday it drizzled and I thought it would look better with sunshine. Hopefully we’ll get some of that today.

I’ve come up with my cocktail recipe too, but Mum says she wants to try it to make sure it works before she lets me tell you what it is. I think you’ll like it though. I think I’m going to call it a Wilma’s Mountain, after my favourite place in Switzerland.

Love

Wilma
