Early walks
Now I’ve got my head around early walks I’m quite enjoying them. The lane we’re walking along is really lovely at that hour of the day. We have a view over the countryside on the way out as it starts on the brow of the hill. It does mean the walk is uphill on the way home, but it’s not too bad. The horse chestnuts haven’t started falling off the trees yet. We had a good look. Mum wants to collect some as they are supposed to discourage spiders. She has been doing it every year since she was told it worked and isn’t now sure if it works or is just superstition. Either way, given she doesn’t like spiders very much she is going to continue. I don’t mind as I can root around in the grass verges to help look for them.
I’m even wondering about asking if we can still walk there once I get the all clear from the vet for longer walks. Maybe I could go there as an extra if I promise to stop barking.
Getting behind
Mum has been getting behind with the gardening. She says it’s too hot for her to work outside. On the bright side, she is planning to do a lot at the weekend to make up for it. I’ve asked if I can sit out at the same time so I can watch. I think she’s going to move my crate outdoors into the shade somewhere so I can’t be tempted to go mad while she’s not looking – honestly, you’d think I could be trusted!
This close to my appointment on Monday can’t really do much harm – Mum is being strict though. The funny thing is I’ve got into quite a routine of being in my crate. It’s going to feel very strange when I suddenly have some freedom again. I think someone should warn next door’s cat – he’s been taking liberties and I intend to sort the problem out.
