Back on my mountain – Tuesday 10th September 2024

Back on my mountain

I spent yesterday morning back on my mountain and it felt so good. My trip to the vet had been uneventful. I barked a bit (a lot) but was pleased to see my Swiss vet and we had a good catch up. My rabies vaccination was much as expected. I just stood there like a good girl and it was all over pretty quickly.

Then we went up to The Raten, or my mountain as we all know it to be. The weather was overcast and rather brooding, but it was just as wonderful as ever. The humans were disappointed as the restaurant was closed, but they went to the one at Gottschalkenberg instead.

Running with Valeria

It was so good to see my sister Valeria. We ran for ages. Mum wouldn’t let me overdo it as this was my first time having a really good run since my operation. I cannot tell you how good it felt. The best thing for me was that it didn’t hurt and I wasn’t limping too badly afterwards.

We went to do some shopping for humans before coming back to where we’re staying. After all the running, I would have been quite happy to chill out for the afternoon. Instead we went for a walk along the shore of Zugersee. It took us a while to find a section we could walk along, but when we did it was really rather nice. I’ve walked around the shore at Zug itself, but we are staying right at the other end of the lake so we didn’t want to drive all the way into Zug.

A different view

We will get a different mountain view later today as we’re going to see my sister Tosca. Her house looks out on a mountain called the Niesen. I can’t wait to see her. She and I have always got on well.

Love

Wilma
