Now the pigeon – Friday 9th May 2025

Now the pigeon

First the magpie, now the pigeon – stuck in the greenhouse. Mum had been out and went into her bedroom to change. When she looked out of the window, there was a pigeon frantically flappy and pecking at the greenhouse glass. Mum concluded that if she didn’t do something soon, this wasn’t going to end well. It was a toss up whether it would be the sunflower seedlings or the greenhouse itself that was going to suffer. She went and opened the door wide, but the pigeon was still focussed on the side window. Fortunately that is one that can be opened, so Mum stood away from it as she lifted it, so the pigeon didn’t fly straight at her. The pigeon didn’t even stop long enough to say ‘thank you’.

Breeding test

It’s going to be a busy weekend here. Our Club’s breeding test is taking place in the garden tomorrow. We’re going to have to help Mum setting everything up. Pebbles has begged to be able to meet the visiting dogs, but Mum said we will have to see. They are here to do something important and don’t need a puppy putting them off. Pebbles so wants some friends. I’m almost feeling sorry for her.

Off to the specialist

I’m off to the specialist this afternoon for a check up. I’ve got my paws crossed that all my ulcers will have healed and that Mum will let me stop wearing this wretched cone. I’m also hoping that means I can have more freedom in the garden again. It’s been a tough few weeks and whilst I am quite a patient dog these days, it is getting all a bit much. Mum wants to discuss my eye-drops with them too. Some of them are much easier to apply than others.

Love and licks
