Dad’s in charge
Dad’s in charge today. Mum has gone to the dentist and left Dad to look after us. I think Mum only says that to Dad to make him feel good. Really, she’s expecting me to be the responsible one. The worrying thing is that Dad has to do all my eye medication at lunchtime and he doesn’t really know what to do. Mum has tried explaining to him and I’m going to do my best, but I’m preparing myself for this not being an completely smooth process. If he pokes me in eye with the cotton bud then I’m really not going to be happy. I guess it doesn’t happen very often so I can’t really complain.
DNA test
Pebbles is excited about a DNA test she is going to do. Because of the back problem that I’ve had and that Aristotle had too, Mum has decided to test Pebbles to see if she has the gene which causes the problem. Pebbles doesn’t actually know what difference it will make if she does carry the gene. It’s not as though she’s suddenly going to decide that jumping is a bad idea – it’s just not in our nature. It would at least mean Mum knows to take some precautions if she does carry the gene.
Back to normal
Mum has decided Pebbles is now far enough past her season for some of normal life to resume. She has to wait another week to go back to her dog training classes, but Mum is hoping to start taking her back out for walks. It’s very quiet in the lane opposite the house as long as Mum picks the right time, so it will be a good starting point for her. She may be a little excited having not been able to go out for a while.
