Sunshine and showers
Yesterday’s dry day turned out to be sunshine and showers. I didn’t feel much like an outdoors day, so I was fine. Mum and Pebbles were planning to do a lot in the garden and they both get very wet. I don’t think Pebbles really noticed, but Mum came in looking bedraggled from time to time.
Mum is working her way around the garden cutting the hedges. Pebbles took the opportunity to run off with one of Mum’s birthday present plants. The idea Mum had was that she would plant a special herb garden with all her presents from her birthday. While she prepares the ground, all the plants were together where they could be looked after – but Pebbles then took advantage of the situation. Mum rescued the plant in question and has now moved them all away from where Pebbles can get to them. She is going to start trying to get them planted today.
Greenhouse
Mum got Dad to help her measure up for the replacement greenhouse. Now she just needs to see if a new one can fit onto the base from the old one. If it can then it will be full steam ahead on greenhouse replacement. If it’s a different size then the job will become much harder. I tried holding the tape measure to help, but to be honest with Mum needing precise measurements I didn’t fill her with confidence.
The second shed needs painting too. That is something I can help with – at least to offer encouragement. Mum is going to see what paint she’s already got that needs using up, so it might end up being multi-coloured by the time it’s finished. Doing all the outside jobs means Mum can spend lots of time out with Pebbles. Hopefully once Pebbles’ medication kicks in she’ll find it easier to spend time indoors, but for the time being Mum has to be outside with her.
