Threlkeld to Keswick Again – Saturday 16th March 2024

Threlkeld to Keswick Again

Today I shall be walking along the old railway line from Threlkeld to Keswick again. I really enjoyed it when I walked there last year. Although that was when my eye started hurting and I had the ulcer on it. Hopefully this year we can manage to go without any need for a trip to the vet and nothing at all going wrong. I’m also hoping it doesn’t rain for the whole walk. We’re going this morning because Dad wants to watch the rugby matches this afternoon. To be honest, I’ll be happy to have a bit of a nap when we come back so I won’t mind too much if he’s busy.

Wet walking

Yesterday’s walk was a very wet one, so we didn’t go as far as we would have liked. It wasn’t just the rain coming down, it was the water cascading down the road off the hillside, which meant my feet were constantly splashing in cold water. I dried them off when I got home, but the water did feel quite cold between my toes. Mud is never as bad as fresh running water.

There is one place that Dad wants to go for a walk that we couldn’t get to last year as it was flooded. Guess what? We aren’t likely to be going there this year either.

Videos

Whilst we were in the car yesterday we were talking about the plans for me getting my puppy. I said it would be a good opportunity to video the whole process from how we decide which puppy to get, through to Pebbles actually joining us. It could be Mum and me discussing each step of the way. Dad thinks it is a good idea and has agreed to be our videographer. We want to make them quite short videos, so I mustn’t talk for too long on each thing. I’m going to put together a list of all the things we need to cover and then we can get started.

Love

Wilma
