All happening
It’s all happening here. If you’ve never lived through building work then I can only say, you are the sensible ones! Don’t do it. My humans keep telling me that when it’s finished it will be great. They forget that one of my years is like seven of theirs – so this feels like it’s been going on forever. Everywhere in our house radiates from the hall. Our builders have started working on the hall. The carpet is up and the floor is very old concrete. At least Mum had them remove the carpet gripper rods so I didn’t hurt my feet.
Usually I like lying down on the hall floor as I can control activities from there – right now, not so much!

Gardening
Mum and I are still making the most of escaping into the garden. On the downside, Mum has been raking up the fallen apples. On the bright side, more will fall down as soon as she turns her back. We’re going to start the massive job of hedge cutting next week. Mum always leaves it until at least September so that any nesting birds don’t get upset. She says she will be careful about the areas she makes a start on and always look for any bird activity before going mad with the electric hedge trimmer. We have a lot of hedges, so we may be gone some while. I think there are some trees to prune too, but I have to stay out of the way for that in case any branches fall where I would otherwise choose to sit.
Going out
Mum had planned a day out with me today. Unfortunately I can only walk for about 20 minutes before I’m in too much discomfort. We’ve agreed to stay at home instead, but on the bright side my consultant says I can start gentle hydrotherapy to build up more muscle, so I shall be starting on that soon. Mum wants me to go every Wednesday for a while until I’m stronger, and then continue fortnightly. It will be the underwater treadmill rather than a swimming pool and I’ve never used one of those before. If Ari could get the hang of it then so can I.
