Not a city girl
I’m not a city girl as you are well aware, so yesterday was a challenge. I spent the day in Bern, which is the capital of Switzerland. It is not a huge city, but it is a city. Mum researched where would be best to park so I could spend a little of the time in the car if I wanted to, and that definitely helped. But I’m probably starting the story in the wrong place, so let me wind back to the start of the day.
Early start
Because we needed to leave early I had breakfast just before 7am. Where we are staying we are supposed to be quiet between the hours of 10pm and 7am, so Mum has done her best to make sure I don’t make any sounds, other than snores, between those hours. I’ve been good as gold every morning whatever time it has been… until yesterday. Was it my fault that cows had suddenly appeared in the field right where I go to the toilet? One of them stared at me and that was enough to set me off. Mum’s response was to try dragging me away to put me in the car – that was when she tripped up the hill and landed in the mud… in her clean jeans!
Bern
When we arrived in Bern I went for a leg stretch with Mum and Dad, but then sat in the car so they could meet up with Ruff’s humans and have a coffee. I joined them after that and walked through the city centre. It was so busy, but Mum talked to me the whole time and I walked nicely by her heel. We went through and underground shopping area and along some quite confined pavements. I passed trams, bicycles and buses – and I coped. Some of it was a bit much and I did end up pooing more times than normal, but I coped.
Mum and Dad were so proud of me. I however, was exhausted.
