A beautiful sight – Saturday 14th December 2024

A beautiful sight

Yesterday we saw such a beautiful sight. When we started out the cloud was at ground level, so we couldn’t see much. It was cold and grey and we weren’t looking forward to the journey. As we drove to the mountain pass the temperature dropped and it was minus 3 and still very grey. Then we had to go into a tunnel before the top of the mountain pass. It’s quite a long tunnel and Mum was bracing herself for it being just as gloomy for the rest of the journey. Then we came out of the tunnel and Mum just gasped. We were above the clouds and the sky was blue. The mountain peaks were covered in snow and everywhere was really beautiful.

Visiting Tosca

The mountain opposite where my sister Tosca lives was just as beautiful. She has the most amazing view from her house. I can’t believe it is one you would ever tire of seeing. Anyway, Tosca is doing really well. She had to have major surgery recently and had her eye removed, but she has recovered very well and is happy. It was so lovely to catch up with her. She has a housemate that’s a cat too. I didn’t get on quite as well with him as I did with Elfrieda. We were nose to nose for a bit but then I sniffed him a bit more excitedly than he wanted me too and he swiped my nose.

Tosca also has eighteen newborn chickens for housemates, but Mum went to see them without me. I think that may have been wise, all things considered.

Heading home

We set off for home after we’d spent time with Tosca’s family. Mum was worried about finding the place we were staying in last night as we hadn’t been there before. The traffic was bad, but fortunately we arrived in the light. Mum had looked on Google maps so she understood what the roads looked like. That all proved worthwhile and we found it without problem.

We have a much longer section of the journey to do today. Mum says as it’s Saturday it shouldn’t be too bad. We have a book to listen to, so that will keep us occupied. It will save me having to listen to Mum singing anyway.

Love

Wilma
