Who’s been sitting in my chair?
We had a ‘Who’s been sitting in my chair?’ moment on Thursday. Mum wanted to look at something on Dad’s computer with him, so they had taken one of the dining chairs to by his desk so Mum could sit down. Mum turned her back for a moment and found Pebbles had climbed up to sit on the chair. Of course, explaining to a dog the chair was not for her, while laughing because the situation was so funny, does not persuade the dog that she has done anything wrong. Pebbles was very happy about the situation and despite wanting to sit down, Mum was quite impressed with her initiative.

Then there was the football
Outside in the garden, Pebbles found a football and thought it was the best prize in the world. There was just one small problem – it wasn’t her football. The football belonged to the boy who lives next door and Mum was hoping to be able to return it in one piece. I stood at the window watching while Mum pulled every trick in her repertoire to get Pebbles to relinquish the football. Pebbles did not want to give it up. She was working on the basis of ‘finders keepers’ and now it was hers.
In the end, Mum managed to creep up to be within throwing distance and then use a trail of cheese to lure Pebbles far enough from the ball so that Mum could get her undivided attention. Eventually, Mum lured Pebbles all the way to her pen and then went back to rescue the football and return it next door. Pebbles was very disappointed. It has left Mum thinking she needs to find a football that Pebbles can actually play with. Preferably one that is totally indestructible.
