There was a little girl – Wednesday 15th October 2025

There was a little girl

There was a little girl,
who had a little curl,
right in the middle of her forehead.
When she was good,
she was very good indeed,
but when she was bad, she was horrid.

That was written by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow and you’d think he’d met Pebbles before writing it.

Oh she was doing so well. Mum even enjoyed taking her to her training class. Although from the fact that Mum came home covered from head to toe in mud, you might have wondered what they’d been doing.

Pebbles was really good in the house for a while and even settled down briefly for a nap. It was later that became a problem. Mum and Dad were working in the garden and Pebbles simply got over excited. That’s when she completely forgets herself. She ran down the garden, used Mum as a springboard for a flying jump and then came back round to grab bite Mum’s arm and sleeve.

On the bright side, Mum’s arm and leg are only bruised.

Best friend

Pebbles made a new best friend at training. She completely hit it off with Maggie, a ten month old black Labrador. Maggie was as smitten with Pebbles as the other way around. Now Pebbles is badgering Mum to arrange a play date, but Maggie lives quite a way away. It takes half an hour to get to dog training and Maggie lives in the opposite direction from there. Mum does really want Pebbles to have some friends of her own to play with, so she might try to set it up – if Pebbles is good! Like that’s going to happen!

Mum says we have some building work taking place today, so I’m staying well out of the way. Pebbles will want to get involved as I think it may be her favourite builder coming.

Love and licks
