Coming out in sympathy

My half-brother, Salvo, has been coming out in sympathy. He has got an ulcer on his eye too, although I think he scratched his and caused it through injury. I’m sending him all my love for a speedy recovery and I can’t wait to see him in a few days’ time. Pebbles is pretty excited too as she might have chance to play with Izzy. Not many dogs are brave enough to play with Pebbles. It needs someone her own size and strength to cope with her. I’m just hoping Izzy is up for the job – then Salvo and I can have some quiet time without them disturbing us.

Destressing day

Yesterday we all had a destressing day – even Pebbles seemed to want to behave herself, which helped. I promised to stop walking into the backs of Mum’s legs with my cone every five minutes. Mum said that was an even bigger help than pebbles. It turned out that Mum just needed a little bit of peace and quiet in order to stay sane. It’s hard to understand when you’re a dog. We live in the moment a lot more and that does make life easier. We don’t think ahead about the next five things we need to do – pee – find food – chase squirrel – dig hole – bark at postman. We just focus on one thing. Ok so if a squirrel comes along while I’m mid pee, then I have to make a split second decision, but even that’s easy. I can pee anytime.

Opening up the well

Mum is wondering if it carries on being really dry, whether we should be opening up the well. We know there would be water as the spring in the corner of the garden is still springing. Pebbles still has mud to play in, even if other parts of the garden are dryer. I think we need to set up some sort of irrigation system for the vegetables, but I think we should do it without Pebbles helping.

Love and licks
