Cheering me up

Mum is working hard on cheering me up. She asked what I’d like to do yesterday, but I didn’t know. She said she’d surprise me. We went to my mountain. I knew it was already arranged for me to go later today, but yesterday was a wonderful surprise. I cannot begin to tell you how happy it made me. Ok, so it was drizzling and we couldn’t see much because the cloud was so low, but it was still my mountain. It smelled right. It felt right. I was so happy. I gambolled along as though I was a young puppy again. Mum says I wasn’t altogether like a young puppy, because I didn’t pull on the lead, but you get the idea.

Familiarity

Familiarity is very reassuring right now. Being on my mountain I knew exactly where I was. I knew where all the benches were, so we could stop for photos and a rest. It just all felt like old times when the world was a place I understood. The fact that I can go again today just makes it even better. It’s a shame we aren’t staying close by on this trip, but there really aren’t many places to stay near there, which makes it difficult.

Present for Pebbles

We went to the pet shop yesterday too. Mum wanted to get a special harness for Pebbles. It has three straps instead of just two, which means it is much harder for her to escape from. The back one goes around her waist, which is narrower than her chest. The harness is the same wonderful brand we’ve used for years, Grossenbacher. It has the advantage that the people who make them have a dog of our breed, so they know what we are like and what we need. The extra present that Pebbles doesn’t know she’s getting, is a collar with Swiss flags all the way around. I hope she likes it.

Love and licks
