Kedleston
I heard from my brother Salvo after his walk at Kedleston. They all had a lovely time. He was there and my niece Izzy, my friends Albert and Toby and two dogs I don’t know. Kayleigh, came from Switzerland and although Mum and Dad met her, I sat in the car as it was the holiday when I had a bit of a melt-down with my dementia. Then a girl called Mango who I haven’t met yet. The exciting thing is that Salvo has suggested we find a date I can do and we do it all again. Mum has also said Pebbles can come but with one or two conditions. I don’t know how that will pan out, but I’m sure Mum knows what she’s doing. Actually, that’s not true. I’m never sure Mum really knows what she’s doing. That’s why she needs me.

Getting Ready
This week I’m helping Mum get things ready for the breeding test that will take place here on Saturday. That’s when dogs who are hoping to join the breeding programme go through two parts of their testing. They have a test to make sure they fit the breed standard for an Entlebucher and another one which is a test of their character. They do health testing too, but that’s not on Saturday. I’m helping Mum get the character test ready. We need to get everything out of the shed and make sure the mice haven’t eaten any of it over the winter.
If they have it will be crazy action stations to replace things in time. Dogs are tested for their responses to different noises, visual stimuli and textures. We are supposed to be interested but unfazed but what goes on around us. It’s fun helping, but pretty nerve-racking to undertake.
