When God gave out brains

When God gave out brains, Pebbles was not at the front of the queue. Actually, she’s so impatient, I don’t think she even joined the queue. There was Mum throwing buckets of water with pond treatment in it, into the pond. Next to her was Pebbles about to throw herself into the pond to catch what was being thrown. It was water. How did she think she was going to catch it? And for that matter, why would anyone want to go in the pond?

It was just a continuation of the day before. Mum had used the net to fish some of the blanket weed out of the pond. In amongst the weed were a number of newts. Mum was working hard to help the newts back to the water. Pebbles had other ideas. She was fascinated by how they were moving. It was a race between Mum and Pebbles whether they should be helped into the pond or played with.

Eating compost

Mind you, playing with newts is probably not as bad as eating compost. While Mum has been digging out the compost heap and moving it to the vegetable trough, Pebbles has seen it was an ‘eat as much as she likes buffet’. It doesn’t matter how many times Mum has explained that is a bad idea, Pebbles sees it differently. The odd thing is that it was me rather than Pebbles who was sick this week. I guess I’m probably as bad when it comes to eating things. On the bright side, I did at least make sure it was on the mat by the door, so it could be put through the wash.

Looking on the bright side, there’s never a dull moment living with us. Mind you, Mum has said she’d quite like a few dull moments. I really can’t think why.

Love and licks
