Early riser
Pebbles is an early riser. So far, from her health tracker we have discovered that not only does Pebbles not seem to need as much sleep as the rest of us, but when she does sleep, she sleeps very well. If you’re Pebbles, that is very good news. If you are the rest of the family – not so much.
Pebbles is awake and ready to go at around 6am. I on the other paw am an elderly dog. I need more sleep and due to my arthritis, I don’t always sleep so well. When Pebbles starts to get fractious in a morning, then I do feel the need to join in. Mum is not happy. She doesn’t want to get up at 6am. Like me, she’s not so young anymore and still wants to be asleep. I think it would be fair to say there are currently some tensions in the house about getting up time. More to the point, when I’m awake I want my breakfast and I’m not quiet in making my demands.
Power tools
Pebbles wants some power tools. She has been helping Mum to build the new compost bins. Mum said Pebbles was particularly interested in both the electric saw and the drill. I’m not sure sawing a piece of wood standing on one leg, and using the other leg to stop Pebbles getting too close, is a good idea, but that’s what Mum was doing.
Mum will only use battery operated power tools as she doesn’t trust herself with wired ones. I’m really not sure we should trust Pebbles with any tools at all. You can just imagine the mayhem she could create with a saw and a drill. Mum likes to build things, but I can’t help thinking Pebbles might see them as a way to cut things up.
