Goodbye to the castle – Sunday 19th May 2024

Goodbye to the castle

I’ve said goodbye to the castle for another year. So that I didn’t have to walk too far yesterday, Mum drove us round to the car park and then said I could just walk as far or as little as I wanted to. It was lovely. We had a little potter in one direction and then went round the other way. There were lots of people setting up for a big event which is taking place today. Mum said it was a good job that when we set off we’ll be going in the other direction and won’t get caught up in it.

After our walk, I went back to look after Dad while Mum went to the supermarket to buy some bits we needed.

Paws up afternoon

After that it was a paws up afternoon. Mum did some of our packing and put it in the car so there would be less to do today, but Dad and I just watched her work. I checked to make sure none of my things went in the car before I’d finished using them. Dad checked that not all the beer had been put in the car. Mum just got frustrated with both of us.

We spent some time on the computer looking at corgis. It isn’t very easy finding breeders in the UK that it is clear are breeding to high standards. Mum has found a couple of people to get in touch with to try to understand more about the breed and health testing. We might see if we can import one instead. I keep reminding myself I have to be patient.

Hitting the road

Now we’re getting ready to hit the road. Mum says we shall be taking the day steadily and may have more stops than normal. I think it depends on how the traffic is. Paws crossed that the roads are quiet and we get home sooner than Mum thinks. I can’t wait to see what’s been going on while I’ve been away. I might ask Mum if I can show you some photos.

Love
