Half way
As I write this I’m half way to Switzerland. To be truthful, it is not quite half way and we have more driving but less tunnel to do today. I’m staying in a wonderfully quiet apartment on a farm outside a place called Saint-Quentin. I’ve had a walk along the lane it’s on. It’s is really just a farm track that seems to go on forever. There are a couple of horses who came over to say hello, but then lots of open countryside with no people or dogs in sight. It all meant I relaxed really quickly and decided Mum had made a very good choice.
There is little village nearby, but it’s quite a walk to get there and apart from getting lost trying to find the place we’re staying in, we haven’t really had a look at it. That’s called Essigny-le-Grand.
Supermarket
Mum found a supermarket near Saint-Quentin to buy the food she would have brought with us in the past. Now because of Brexit that isn’t an option, so at least we found a solution. Don’t tell anyone, but we actually smuggled my Bonios into the luggage so I didn’t have to do without them. I was just glad there were no sniffer dogs at the Channel Tunnel.
I wasn’t absolutely well-behaved at the pet check-in. There is a small possibility I might have barked quite a lot from the moment I went in to the moment I left. So much so that people pulled their own dogs out of my way and we were served quickly to get us out. Now, while I realise it was stressful for Mum, she should have been grateful that we got an easy clear passage through a busy room and only took a couple of minutes to complete the process. You’re welcome.
Love
