What did they say?
What did they say? That’s what Mum and I want to know. Since Pebbles saw her brothers and sisters and her birth mum on Saturday she has been a completely different dog. Yesterday in particular Mum said she was as good as gold on her walk. They even met other dogs where the owners were having difficulty controlling them and Pebbles simply said hello and continued along at Mum’s heel.
Mum was working on the computer sitting in the kitchen and Pebbles simply lay down beside her, completely relaxed. Mum almost forgot she was there. Pebbles did have some Kongs and chews, but not many. She was happy just chilling. Then she got one of her ostrich bones and had a good chew on that. The only naughtiness was what we would normally expect from a one year old. The sock she stole will be fine once it’s been through the wash.
Barking
It was me that was the bigger problem. I’ve been having some ‘barking episodes’ where even I don’t know why I’m barking. It takes a really big noise to break through into my thinking and stop me in my tracks. Mum said that Alfie became like that when he had dementia but not until a much later stage. When I’m not having an episode I can discuss it quite calmly with Mum. I don’t know why I’m doing it. There is nothing I can do differently to prevent it, but I don’t enjoy it any more than Mum does. Oh, I walked into a cupboard and a door too, so not my best day.
Today’s tests
We will both have things which test us today. Pebbles is off to training this morning and I have my hydrotherapy this afternoon. Mum is hoping that both of those things can pass without incident. Mum is also going to decide today if Pebbles needs to go to the vet about her hair loss. From how male dogs are responding to Pebbles, it does look very much as though this is down to hormones, even though the timing is odd. Mum vacuumed all the dog hair again last night and says if there is another thick layer this morning then Pebbles is definitely going to see someone.
