How bad is it?

How bad is it out there? As I write this, I haven’t yet risked looking out of the window. We were on an amber warning for snow when I went to bed last night. I shall be able to tell without looking if I wait a few more minutes. Mum has to get Pebbles to the vet for the investigation of her glands. It is a safe bet that if I hear Mum shriek, it will mean we have deep snow. Then she has to decide whether to go outside to dig out the car and fight her way out of the village, or whether it will make more sense to ring the vet to rearrange.

Then we’d have a decision to make. Is it too cold to go outside to build a snow dog or shall we all wrap up and play in the snow? Mum did the sensible thing ahead of the snow. She went round and cleared up all the poo she could find. There is nothing worse than finding piles of poo lurking under the snow you want to build your snow dog out of.

Duck in the snow

When the snow started last night the first thing Pebbles did was take her duck outside to introduce him to snow. Duck was unceremoniously dropped in the snow while Pebbles ran off around the garden. I couldn’t take any pictures because it was already dark. Anyway, Mum said that on her return leg of the run, Pebbles did a flying skid to scoop Duck off the ground and bring him back inside. He was a little wet, but I guess that’s ok for ducks. I guess next time Pebbles goes out she will need to take Sloth, Moose or Hoppig so that they all get chance to see what real snow is like.
