Freaking out

Pebbles was freaking out yesterday morning when she got up. Something had upset her in the night, but the problem was she didn’t know what it was. All she could tell us was that there was something outside. Her room has the back door. She can’t actually see the door from where her crate is. We did have bad weather and it was windy, but Mum didn’t think there had been any thunder and lightning. If there was it hadn’t woken the rest of us. Pebbles wouldn’t even go out to go to the toilet unless Mum went with her to hold her paw.

Mum took her out and walked her around the garden so she could see there was nothing to be worried about. Little by little, Pebbles relaxed and stopped being so jumpy. It took her until mid-morning to get over the upset, which was really strange.

Help yourself

When Mum went through to the kitchen, after getting Pebbles up, she took a couple of chews with her. The plan was to give those to Pebbles at intervals to help her settle. I’ve mentioned before that Pebbles, like Aristotle before her, is confident walking on two legs. That skill meant that by the time Mum turned round to get one of the treats for Pebbles, there were none left on the side. Pebbles had removed them one by one when she thought she was ready for them, rather than waiting for Mum’s timing. Mum really needs to be more careful where she puts things – especially when those things are rabbit ears! That’s Pebbles’ current favourite. She likes camel skin too.

Mum doesn’t normally give me any of those sorts of chews because I forget to chew them before swallowing. I did manage to have a fish skin the other day by promising to have it in pieces rather than all at once.

Love and licks
