Then there were two

And then there were two – just me and Mum. We waved goodbye to Dad at the airport yesterday and sent him home. We all felt pretty sad about it, but he has to be at work today, so there was nothing that could be done. The worst of it is that finally the weather has improved.

Seelisberg

Yesterday morning, while Dad was still with us, we went to a place called Seelisberg. It sits above Lake Lucerne. Before we got there we found a viewpoint with the most amazing views of the lake. The sun was out by then and it was just amazing. I enjoyed the feeling of warm sun on my fur rather more than getting excited about the view, but the humans were happy too.

Some of the drive was hairpin bends, but not really bad ones, so Mum coped. Dad really wanted to carry on further along the road, but Mum didn’t like the look of what that would involve.

Zurich airport

Mum says she always hates the drive to Zurich airport and almost always takes a wrong turning somewhere. Yesterday was no exception and she ended up driving through Zurich rather than round the outskirts. For good measure she missed a turning after we’d dropped Dad as well so we went the long way round to get away again afterwards.

Happy place

Because Mum was feeling a bit down once Dad had gone, I took her to our happy place. There is nothing like a walk on my mountain to cheer us both up. When it’s sunny there really is nowhere in the world more beautiful. It was a bit of a cold wind yesterday but the sun was glorious and it really was at its best. It worked its magic and we both came back to where we’re staying tired but happy.

Love

Wilma

  1. Loved it! Can’t believe it’s taken me four years to get round to reading it. Looking forward to my subscription working so I can keep up on your adventures, Wilma.
