Progress in the greenhouse
There has been a lot of progress in the greenhouse since I last checked. Mum has been doing the daily watering with Pebbles so I hadn’t been watching what was happening. Eight of the dahlias are coming through so far. The sunflowers are doing well. There was one pot that nothing had germinated in and now, a little behind the others, a small shoot has appeared. The tomatoes are looking particularly well. And as for the squash and courgettes, of all the pots we planted up, there are just five which don’t have anything to show yet.
We really need to get everything planted. That just means getting the big veg bed ready. The rotavator will arrive today. It’s only a little one and I do hope Mum won’t be disappointed. The plan is to get to work tomorrow once the batteries have charged. If it does the job Mum will be very happy.
Plan for today
My plan for today is to watch the world from indoors. Pebbles is planning to take a more active approach and pounce on the day outdoors. Mum hasn’t quite decided. I guess she’ll do some of both. There are roses in need to tying up, but I think Mum was hoping Dad might do that bit. She’s thinking of sealing the shed roof, but it involves a lot of time up a ladder and she’s still building up the enthusiasm for that. She says she might just sit with me indoors and spend the day deciding what she should have been doing if she’d got around to it. Pebbles won’t be happy if she does that, but I will.
Mum says she’d really like a duvet day, but that isn’t any use with pebbles around. It’s hard to relax when you’re being bounced on every five minutes.
