Off to the specialist
I’m off to the specialist this morning. Mum and I had a very long heart to heart. I don’t mind crate rest, but Mum can’t bear me being in pain. She said when my disc went before, it took several months of me suffering as we went through rest, physio and pain management, before we got to surgery. She just doesn’t want to put me through that if possible. Instead she rang my local vet and asked if we could be referred back to the specialist immediately. They can then examine me and do any imaging which might be necessary to find what has gone wrong. Within ten minutes she had a call back to say they could see me at 8.30am this morning.
No breakfast
I don’t know quite what to expect today. I’ve had no breakfast and none of my pain medication. It may just be an examination and a later appointment for imaging to take place. Alternatively, I may be there for a while if they decide to take images today. Mum is taking my food and medications with us to cover all eventualities. She has explained that she can’t stay all day to wait. It would be the afternoon Mum managed to get theatre tickets for her and Dad to go to the production at the Royal Shakespeare Theatre. It’s a good job we live so near to Stratford. Mum says if necessary she will come to collect me after the production finishes.
She can at least stay to hold my paw until late morning if I need her to.
On a funnier note, I think Pebbles is worried about me. She brought her Hoppig and put it down outside my crate earlier. It was very sweet of her. I think she feels I need a comforter.
Love and licks
