The Reading of the Will – Thursday 19th March 2020

The reading of the will

Yesterday we had the reading of the will. I was tasked with the important job or reading the Last Will and Testament of Alfie Dog to the rest of the household. I did ask Mum if she could video it for you, but she said it would be better to print what he said here.

Last Will and Testament of Alfie Dog

I leave the care of my Mistress to Wilma, please take care of her as best you can. I also leave you my place next to the fire.

I leave my coat and dressing gown to Aristotle, I hope you enjoy wearing them as much as I did.

To Shadow I leave my Master. He’s going to need your love and licks.

The contents of my piggy bank (About £3.53, two buttons and an emergency half a Bonio, I leave for Heidi’s ongoing care. And if anyone would like to add to that in my memory then please use this button and if possible mark your donations Alfie.

The new leader of the PDDP will need to be elected, I don’t believe in that being hereditary.

I would also like to establish an annual award in my memory. My Mistress will work out the details. It will be awarded annually to the dog who does most for the development of our breed in the UK.

I’ve already distributed my remaining toys and our Mistress will sort out who gets my bed.

Trying my best

We will all do our best to fulfil his wishes. I’ve already started trying to look after Mum. She is back in her own bed for the first time in over three months, which means I can sleep next to her and check on her every so often. I’m taking her out for walks too, to make sure she gets lots of fresh air.

Ari is thrilled with the dressing gown. Hopefully he’ll let me take a photo of him in it. He’s asking if he can have his name embroidered on it, but I don’t think it’s as easy after you bought it.

Well that’s all for now. I shall start telling you about our new ‘normal’ in the coming days.

Love

Wilma
