Settling

D’Artagnan is settling into his temporary accommodation with Mum. He’s found a comfortable chair and is resting. He says there are two cats, but they haven’t tried to come in to see him yet. Oh the fun I could have had chasing the cats. I guess that’s why we weren’t allowed to go with Mum. It’s such a shame as Mum says the cottage is about as perfect as it could be. It is compact but very comfortable. But for the fact she can’t have any of us there she says she wishes she could stay there right through the summer. There is a beautiful garden too, so she can sit outside and enjoy the quiet.

Sinking in

Selling our house is only just beginning to sink in. When Mum drove away on Wednesday she said it felt more like going away for a few days and she’d be coming back. Instead it was more like being a tortoise and carrying her home on her back, or more to the point in the roofbox. She spent all day yesterday going through the things she’d taken with her and wondering why she thought she’d need them. She has promised to leave enough with Granny and Grandpa so that when she comes to visit there will be room to take one of us back with her to the next place she’ll be staying in.

Cramming things in the car

During her journey there was so much packed in the car that if she’d done an emergency stop it would have been a close run thing as to whether she’d have been hit by a watermelon or the frying pan. Her passenger was a rose bush. If talking to plants helps them grow then it should end up as a very large plant.
