Having fun

Well I’m having fun with lots of new friends. My birthday wasn’t bad at all. If I’m being honest, I think Mum missed me more than I missed her, but don’t tell her I said that. I know she’s counting the days down until she sees us. I’m looking forward to it too, but being a dog I’m living in the moment and making the most of each day. It’s a good way to live. It stops us getting too sad about things.

Beginning to plan having more fun

Mum says she is at last getting some time to start planning for our new home. The most important work to have done before we can move in with her, apart from finding our beds, is improving the fence. The fence as it is will be fine for Shadow and Aristotle. It’s me that’s the problem apparently.

Wilma vom Rickental

I’m a Rickental (that’s the kennel I’m from). Anyway, our line of dogs is rather known for our ability to jump. Oh you should see us. Dog gates are just hurdling practice as far as I’m concerned. I will stay where Mum wants me to be only as long as it suits me. This could be a problem in the new house. Two sides of the garden border fields with sheep in. I cannot promise that I won’t have the urge to get to know them better. Mum is planning to increase the height of the fence so that I can’t. Frankly I see that as a challenge, but she tells me I mustn’t think that way.

Other plans

Mum says the other things we need to do can happen over time. She wants gates on the drive so we can all help in the front garden when she’s out there. That will be fun. We couldn’t work in our old front garden as the front fence wouldn’t have kept us in. We just sat behind the gate patiently waiting for her to come back. It will be so much more fun to be able to help.

I think it might be time to start getting a little bit excited.

Love

Wilma
