Clocks or stomachs?

Which should we be governed by clocks or stomachs? All this ‘No you can’t have your meal yet, Wilma, we’ve changed the clocks,’ really doesn’t hold any sway with a hungry dog. What care we for your human clocks? Our tummies said it was breakfast time / lunch time and tea time at the usual appointed times. Would Mum feed us? Oh no. ‘Wilma you’ve got to wait.’ Well, I didn’t want to wait. I did the only thing a dog can do in that situation and I ‘embarked’ on the non-stop barking routine. We work on the basis that sooner or later we will wear Mum down and get my own way. I was shut out of the room that Mum was in until I learnt some better manners. I must be losing my touch.

Lazy day

Overall yesterday was a very lazy day. Mum went back to bed even though she’d already had an extra hour. In that situation there is only one thing for it and if you can’t beat them – join them, literally. Thankfully I’m the only one who can jump up onto the bed, so it doesn’t get too over crowded. If we all start jostling for the spot closest to Mum she gets a bit fed up. When it’s just me, I just snuggle in and make the most of it.

Today’s plan

At this stage of the day as far as I understand, the plan is to do some gardening and then go for a nice walk. That way we’ll all have had lots of fresh air and all be happy. We still have the problem that we’re hungry at what the humans deem to be the wrong times but we’ve got apples, so maybe we won’t starve altogether.

Love

Wilma
