Friday Flashback – Friday 15th February 2019

Friday Flashback

Well I’m here with Friday Flashback again. It’s fun looking back to when Alfie was young. Here are his views on cats from when he was only 15 months old.

2007- Cats

As a dog there are few things quite as stressful as being taken out in the car, strapped into your car harness in the front seat and with the door and window closed finding a cat jumping on the bonnet right in front of you to benefit from the engine’s warmth. There you are on the inside, there is the cat on the outside and there is absolutely nothing you can do about it. Oh you can howl and whine but what you really want to do is swipe it with your paw. Swiping the dashboard is not satisfying and if you press your nose against the window the cat laughs at you and your mistress gets cross for the mess you have made of the window. I think the cat was well aware of my imprisonment, they can be quite cruel to us dogs at times. I really can’t see what humans see in them as companions. They are arrogant, independent and condescending and those are just their good points.

Then in 2010 Alfie did make me laugh with this bit

Bananas to Valentine’s Day

In an interesting day yesterday, it turned out that my Master had accidentally bought my Mistress a Christmas card rather than a Valentine’s Card, which he decided not to give her in the end and Shadow took a banana off the table and took it to bed. No one is daring to ask what she planned to do with it, but I’m hoping that peel and eat was the objective. Although knowing Shadow she was probably more likely to leave the skin somewhere for me to slip on just for the fun of it.

And finally from 2014 when Shadow’s third litter were preparing to go off to their homes

Puppy worming

Cosette (no Ellie) waiting for a cuddle

Today is T minus 4 and the puppies are 7 weeks old. They won’t all go on Wednesday, only Cinderella and Cracker but it really isn’t far away now. Their families will be getting very excited waiting for their arrival. The puppies are getting very excited, but obviously apprehensive as well. Today is worming day so we need to get accurate weights so we know how much to give them. The biggest ones will be having a tablet instead of the liquid and the smaller ones the liquid. It will be the first time any of them have been faced with a tablet so that may be an interesting challenge. It’s easy with us, it just gets wrapped in marzipan and we wolf it down. With the puppies that would be harder as they are not yet familiar with marzipan either so might just nibble at the corners which wouldn’t help.

Well that’s all from me for today. Have a great Friday

Love

Wilma
