Quiet day – Saturday 27th July 2019

Quiet day

Yesterday turned out to be a quiet day. We were supposed to go shopping, but it was still really hot here. Anyway, in the morning I had a word with Mum and asked if there was any way I could be excused from the shopping trip. It wasn’t that I didn’t want to go, it’s just I’d had a look on the internet and it looked like there might be quite a bit being outside on paving and it was forecast to be 33 degrees again. Mum understood completely, so she suggested to Dad that he should take the boys and she would stay here with me. It was by far the best idea. We move downstairs into the basement of where we are staying and it was much cooler.

Catching up on sleep

I spent much of the day catching up on sleep and at one point Mum decided I’d got the right idea so joined me. Being so hot at night makes sleeping hard. Then of course, being out during the days has meant I’ve been short of my usual nap times. I felt so much better by later in the day. The temperature started to drop here during the night, which means today should be much more manageable. On the downside it is forecast to both rain and thunder. I’m not sure my long forest walk is going to happen, but I’m staying optimistic. I think if it doesn’t Mum might put in a bid to go to the cuckoo clock place. She likes things like that. It’s quite fitting really.

Getting excited

Then it will be time to get excited about going to Switzerland. It’s been soooo long since Mum and I could be there. I don’t know which of us is more excited. We only have a few days but she has promised we’ll be back very soon and start being there more often again. It will be great to get to our house and see what Dad’s been up to while I’ve not been there. I do hope he hasn’t moved any of my things.

Love

Wilma
