Quiet Day
Yesterday we had a quiet day. We had such a fun weekend that Mum said she really needed to do some catching up. It didn’t matter too much as it was a rainy day and quite cold, so we were both quite happy to watch it from indoors. If we had been in England on a rainy day then I would have had to sit at the window and watch the birds. Here it was a very different sort of day. The cows were turned out into the field behind the house and from our office, because of the hill, that puts them at eye level and only a few meters away. Well, they stared at me and I stared at them. Mum waved to them, but I stuck to trying to stare them out. There was one in particular that spent much of the day watching us. I wonder what she was thinking.
Walks and chores
We did have a little walk in between the rain, but we only went from home so I missed my mountain for the day. Mum asked if I wanted to go with her to the bottle bank but I said I’d give it a miss. It means walking along the main road and the cars are awfully close, so it makes me a bit jumpy. She wasn’t long and I’d got a cow to stare at while she was gone anyway. She did a little more gardening but her shoulder is still hurting so she didn’t feel like doing much.
Paddling disaster
The last thing Mum did on Sunday was have a paddle in the lake. Unfortunately little bitey things took full advantage of her ankles and she has bites both sides of both feet. She says she’s not paddling again if that’s what happens. It didn’t happen to Dad so I think she must just taste nice.
Now I’m getting ready to go up my mountain and see my friends. I’m excited and looking forward to another good run.
Love
