Sunshine at last
Now we have sunshine at last – it seems there will still be some rain thrown in, but it did feel good to be walking with sun on my fur. I took Mum and Dad for a walk around the airfield. It’s my favourite walk. I’ll admit we had a bit of a battle of wills. I saw the status of the piles of manure in a different light to them. Dad was a bit more flexible, but Mum considered it a hazard for me to avoid. I saw endless possibilities of taste and smell. Sadly, Mum won the battle and I was kept away from it. She can be such a spoilsport.
Now I’m hoping for lots of outdoor time over the next few days to make the most of it all. I think Mum wants to try to take some plant cuttings for the new house but gardening is Ari’s domain rather than mine.
Eating things up
On the bright side, moving house seems to involve eating everything in the freezer. Now obviously there are some things I’m not volunteering for. I’d much sooner eat the fresh veg than ones which have been frozen for example. However, I am volunteering to help with the ice cream. Mind you, I’m going to have to ask Dad when Mum isn’t around. Mum has tightened up my diet and isn’t letting me have anything that’s vaguely fun. Dad’s more of a soft touch, so I’m buttering him up.
Using the freezer contents up is also going to lead to marmalade making. I don’t suppose that will be much fun for me but I’m willing to sit at Mum’s feet on the off chance it’s better than it sounds. When I say ‘at her feet’ – to be honest it’s more ‘on her feet’ but what’s a little distance between friends?
